The seriousness of symptoms can vary between certain types of autistics patients. All autistic sufferers have some noticeable symptoms. These symptoms vary from Social interactions and relationships, verbal and no-verbal communication and finally Limited interest in activities or play. Wondering what those three terms mean. Well below are some key points on each of the terms:

                                                  Autism Symptom

Social Interaction-  The symptoms of Social Interaction are as follows.   There might be some very significant problems with autistic people communicating in non-verbal skills. This can be anything from eye-to-eye contact with people, facial expressions and the way the body is postured. Also if the person with autism cannot make friendships with children who are the same age as them then this is another sign of it. A lack of interest in sharing the enjoyment, interests or even the achievements with other people will be a common sign that can be seen easily. The lack of empathy that is shown from people with autism and also the lack of understanding other peoples feelings and emotions, for example the pain they might feel or the excitement they might get.

The next term that is common with autistic sufferers is: Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication- The symptoms of Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication are as follows.  There might be a lack of talking, whether this is a delay in staring to talk or a lack of learning to talk. An interesting statistic about autism is that as many as 50% of autistic sufferers may never speak. Another problem that autistic sufferers have is taking steps to start a conversation with others. Once a conversation has started people with autism might find it hard to carry on the conversation. A use of repeating the same language for example, a person who has autism might often repeat a word over and over again which they have heard earlier and it has stuck in their head. This is known as Echolalia. A difficulty in understanding another person’s perspective on a comment is one other symptom of autism. For example, an autistic person might get told a joke or funny story, but might not understand it as being a joke and not laugh or get it.

The final term that is common with autism is: Limited Interests in Activities Play-The first sign that occurs is when an autistic person focuses on different objects for a long time.

This is a focus on just one item for a long time and nothing else. Younger children will tend to focus on a toy or a part of a toy, like the wheels on a toy car rather than the whole toy itself. An interest or preoccupation on a topic is another sign. This could be anything and usually older children and adults usually fascinate with a train schedule or a license plate on a car. If a person who suffers from autism is behaving with hands flapping and rocking their body then this is known as stereotyped behaviors and is common with autistic people.
