Many of the young infants and children of today are big social creatures who to live their lives need and want constant contact with other people to thrive and grow throughout their lives. To help them to achieve attention from other people they smile, cuddle, laugh and cry and answer keenly to children games such as ‘peek-a-boo’. In some children this interaction does not happen in the right manner. Instead of trying to interact with the worlds they are living in the child seems to exist in their own little world or have a place that is the same in every routine. Odd and peculiar behavior such as talking to themselves, and problems in communicating with other people around them or having a total lack of social awareness or no interest in other people are all common inside some children. These are the symptoms for a disorder that is called autism. It is a social disorder for many who have it.

                                                                             Child Autism

By the time a child has reached the age of 30 months old, autism can be identified if they have it. If not then it will defiantly be discovered by the time the child has reached three years old. The way a child is usually found to have autism, is when the parents of the child become increasingly worried that the child might be deaf because they don’t respond to their speech, or if the child does not yet talk, resists any cuddling or hugging form anyone and doesn’t in any way or form interact with others.   A child of the age of preschool who has the case of ‘classic’ autism, is usually and most commonly withdrawn, distant, and fails to respond to anyone else. On top of this, the child may not even make eye contact with anyone.

Other unusual actions for a child of that age that will indicate autism is rocking, flapping of hands, or an obsession to maintain order.   Most children who have autism do not speak at all. The ones that do will speak in rhyme, or repeat a person’s word like an echo, might refer to themselves as an Ahe or Ashe, or speak in a peculiar language.  The sternness of autism varies from mild to severe. Some children with autism do well in school and are very bright people, but might struggle to adjust with school. They may also be able to live and grow up independently in later life. Others who have autism are at a lower level than these. Retardation especially mental is associated with autism.
